Eagles' players fo sign PHILADELPHIA (UPI Greg Brown and Ray Ellis, two key contributors to the reborn Philadelphia Eagles' defense last season, are close to signing new contracts with the club. But their attorney has indicated that the cost of their new pacts are worth less than the combined $2.3 million mentioned in a published report. The Philadelphia Daily News reported Tuesday that Brown would sign a three-year, $1.5 million contract and that Ellis would sign a two-year pact worth $840,000 with the financially troubled club. "I don't know where those figures came from," said Philadelphia attorney Lloyd Remick, agent for Brown and Ellis. "Neither Susan Eagles vice president Susan Fletcher) nor I have disclosed any figures.

"Let me just say there is satisfaction on Greg and Ray's part. We have worked out a deal and the Eagles have been very fair with us. But we're not commenting on any of the terms."
