'Hank' Jacoby Funeral services for Harold B. "Hank" Jacoby, 89, of 96 Airport Road, Shippensburg, will be held Saturday at a.m. in Fogelsanger- Funeral Home, 112 W. King Shippensburg. He died Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 8, 1910 in Shippensburg, the son of the late Russell and Emma Grace Baker Jacoby, he was retired from Hoffman Mills, Shippensburg and was a former school bus driver. He was a well-known local horseman, horse trainer, riding instructor and ferrier. In the 1940s, he showed the horse Aristocrat at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where he won the model horse of the world championship. He played baseball with many local teams in his youth and spent a year with the Harrisburg Senators. A Protestant, he was a U.S.

Marie Carl Funeral services for Carl Blackwell, 66, of 101 Faith Circle, North Middleton Township, will be held at the convenience of the family in Norwich, N.Y. He died Monday, June 26, 2000 at his home. Born Feb. 22, 1934 in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frederick and Ethel Button Blackwell and the widower of Ann Elizabeth Lane Blackwell, who died Sept. 22, 1994.

He was a graduate of the New York State Police Academy in Albany, NY. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War who also served in Germany, he retired from the New York State Police after 20 years of service and was retired as a correctional officer at Cumberland County Prison. Queen Shippensburg, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in FogelsangerBricker Funeral King Shippensburg. She died Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in Shippensburg Health Care Center. Born Nov. 6, 1932 in Dickinson Township, she was the daughter of the late Jacob T.

and Edith P. Bowers Kuntz. Retired from The Beistle Shippensburg, where she worked from 1969 until 1991, she retired to care for her only grandchild, Andrew "Andy" Ackelsberg, who had a heart transplant. She formerly worked for Knouse Foods, Chambersburg. A 1950 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, gardening and traveling.

Sheetz, 88, of North Newton Township, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Egger Funeral Home, 15 Big Spring Newville. He died Wednesday, June 28, 2000 at his home. Born May 19, 1912 in Steelton, he was the son of the late David F. and Mary Seabolt Sheetz.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he owned and operated a jewelry store for many years in Newville until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Newville and Failor- Wagner American Legion Post 421. Mr. Sheetz is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Zepp of Etters, and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.

The Rev. Robert L. Rhoades will officiate at services. Burial will be in Newville Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.

in the funeral home. Esther M. McAlister Esther M. McAlister, 89, of Shermans Dale died Thursday, June 29, 2000 at Cumberland Crossings Nursing Home, South Middleton Township. Born May 24, 1911 in Shermans Dale, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Annie Baxter Owings and the widow of Raymond W.

McAlister. She was a member of Young's United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale, and a former employee of C.H. Masland and Son. Carlisle. Mrs.

McAlister is survived by three sons, Robert G. of Enola, Jack of Carlisle and Raymond G. of Sharpsburg, two daughters, Mary Ann Clelan of Shermans Dale and Nancy L. of Summerville, S.C.; a brother, Porter Owings of Shermans Dale; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.

in Young's United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale with the Rev. N. Jefferson Brewster officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Gilread Cemetery.

Born July 20, 1935 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of Minnie Rolf Barmont of Carlisle and the late Paul Barmont. She was a graduate of Lower Paxton High School and Northwestern University. Rebecca E. Salisbury, 85, of 91 Doubling Gap Road, Newville, died Thursday, June 29, 2000 in Swaim Health Center, West Pennsboro Township. Born May 15, 1915 in Carlisle Springs, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Blanch Lidia Keck Gutshall. She was a member of McClures Gap Church of God, where she taught Sunday school and belonged to the Woman's Christian Social Service of the church; The Golden Agers; the Newville Senior Center; and the Upper Frankford Fire Co. Mrs.

Salisbury is survived by her husband, Wayne A. Salisbury; a daughter, Frida Mae Ulsh of Orrstown; two sons, James A. Salisbury of Newville and Glenn A. of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Rummel; and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in McClures Gap Church of God, 130 Church of God Road, Newville, with the Rev. Myrtle McCall officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. Arrangements are being handied by Egger Funeral Home, Newville.

18, 1951 in Carlisle, she was a retired clerk typist for the Department of General Services, Harrisburg and an accomplished artist. Carlisle police say Kathy L. Smith reported between 11 p.m. June 19 and 8:05 a.m. June 20, someone damaged the front windshield of her 1995 Ford Aspire while it was parked in front of her house. Damage is estimated at $500.

Parked truck sideswiped in Carlisle A parked truck was damaged by an unidentified motorist in the 100 block of East High Street, Carlisle, earlier this week. Carlisle police say between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, someone collided with Jennifer Conners' 1968 Chevrolet Stepside pickup truck and broke the driver's side mirror off, then fled.

Police ask anyone with information to call 243-5252. Teens cited for alcohol possession Two Carlisle teens were cited for possession of alcohol Wednesday morning in the 1900 block of Ritner Highway. Carlisle police say at 1:49 a.m. a vehicle driven by Patrick Molle, 19, of the 900 block of Hillside Drive, was stopped and beer was found in the back seat. Molle and Daniel Wolf, 19, of the first block of Sussex Drive, were cited.

Molle also received multiple traffic citations, police say. Woman treated after hit-run crash A Virginia woman was treated and released from Carlisle Hospital after she was involved in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday on Interstate 81 in South Middleton Township. State police in Carlisle say at 10:56 p.m. Patricia A. Gibson, 41, of Dayton, was northbound on the interstate in a 1995 Buick Century when a northbound tract struck the left rear of Ms.

Gibson's vehicle a and left the scene. The collision sent the Century off the east berm, and it came to rest on its roof facing northwest. Police say the tractor's color is possibly copper or gold and the trailer is white. Anyone with information is asked to call 249-2121. Cycle accident closes Interstate 81 A motorcycle accident closed Interstate 81 in South Newton Township Thursday night.

State police in Carlisle say at 8:30 p.m. Calvin Little, 46, of Billerica, was traveling northbound on the interstate on a 1985 Honda Magna motorcycle when he went into a closed lane at a construction zone. Little lost control of his motorcycle and slid 47 yards across the roadway, police say, but no injuries were reported. The interstate had to be closed for about half an hour to clean up the accident. Residence hit by vandalism An Upper Frankford Township residence was vandalized between 12:01 and 10 a.m.

June 13. State police in Carlisle say someone went to Freemont Bloser's residence in the 1000 block of Grahams Woods Road and cut a hole in a screen on his garage. A target also was knocked down and damaged, police say. New pickup truck stolen from dealer 99 Someone stole a 2000 Ford Ranger from Maguire's Ford on Main Street in Penn Township, Perry County, earlier this week. State police in Newport say the green pickup was stolen between 1 p.m.
