Graber, 28, of Troy, was injured on Township Route 546 this morning. Dr. Edward Carroll, 62, pastor of Memorial United Methodist Church in Silver Spring, was elected a bishop of the church at the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference here Wednesday. He received 255 votes of the total 401. To be elected bishop, the candidate must receive at least 241 votes. Bishop-elect Carroll will be consecrated to his office Friday, at a service closing the conference.

He and eight other new bishops will be assigned to different territories at the end of the conference. He is the third black bishop to be elected in the United Methodist Church.
