For the Record Speece E. Bell Services for Speece E. Bell, 75, formerly of Valley Road, Marysville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Nickel Funeral Home, West Main Street, Loysville. He died Sunday in Thornwald Nursing Home, Carlisle.

Born May 28, 1916, in Fayette Township, Juanita County, he was a son of the late James D. and Anne Spease Bell. He was the widower of Arvilla I. Cox Bell. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Landisburg, New Bloomfield Adams Lodge 319 and Harrisburg Consistory. Obituaries John L. Private services for John L. Hipps, 74, of 10 Naugle Road, Shippensburg, will be held in Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom. He died Sunday in Carlisle Hospital.

Born Feb. 25, 1917, in New Washington, he was a son of the late John and Mary Chapman Hipps. He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Blant R.

of RD2 Landisburg and Kenneth E. of RD1 Landisburg; one brother, Gale G. of RD1 Elliottsburg; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. The Rev. E.

Levain Fouse will officiate. Burial will be in Landisburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where lodge services will be held at 8 p.m. and also from 10 to 11 a.m.

Box 217, Walnut Bottom 17266. Walter A. Larsen Walter A. Larsen, 82, of 132 DeGuy Hanover, died this morning in his home. He was born April 8, 1909, in Tonsburg, Norway.

He retired May 1, 1974, from United Telephone headquarters in Carlisle after 32 years of service. At the time of his retirement, he was an engineer in charge of special customer services. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Hanover, Cumberland Star Lodge 197 Free Accepted Masons of Carlisle, BPOE Lodge No. 763 of Hanover, Independent Telephone Pioneer Association and AARP. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Police Adams man facing charges An Adams County man was arrested by state police in Carlisle Monday following an investigation into thefts at a Camp Hill company.

that occurred over a 10-month period. Police reports say Chuck H. Hall, 31, of the 5200 block of Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, was arrested in Lower Allen Township about 12:30 p.m. Police allege Hall stole about $15,000 worth of equipment from his former employer, Besco Systems first block of Hummel Avenue, Camp Hill. The unspecified equipment was allegedly taken between January and November.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and other arrests may follow. Hall was arraigned before District Justice Charles Clement and charged with two counts of unlawful use of a computer and conspiracy and one count each of theft by unlawful taking and theft by receiving stolen property. He was released after posting $2,500 bond. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Husband charged with assault A domestic dispute ended with the arrest of a Carlisle man Monday afternoon.

Carlisle police reports say Thierry Ferrari, 24, first block of West Louther Street, Carlisle, was arrested about 3:40 p.m. Monday. Ferrari was arrested after his wife alleged he assaulted her. Ferrari was arraigned before District Justice Ronald Daihl and charged with simple assault. He was remanded to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.

A hearing before District Justice Paula Correal is scheduled for Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. Man says tools stolen State police in Carlisle are investigating a burglary that occurred near Gardners early Monday morning. Police reports say someone broke into a workshop owned by Kenneth Richwine, 700 block of Baltimore Pike, Gardners, just after midnight. The thief stole two kerosene heaters, two tool boxes with tools and an air compressor.

The stolen property is worth about $1,500. Car sustains egg damage Vandals caused an unspecified amount of damage to a Carlisle man's car recently. Saturday in Bethany Village Chapel, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg. She died Sunday in Harrisburg Hospital. Born Jan. 23, 1908, in Wellsville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Allen and Annie May Stough Fitzgerald. She was a former teacher and a graduate of Shippensburg Normal School.

She a Navy veteran of World War II. She was a member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church and its Ladies Circle. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Herr H. Herr, to whom she was married for 43 years; one daughter, Cynthia Marie Herr of Eugene, and two sisters, Cathrin Edwards Mechanicsburg and Olive Wester of Pittman, N.J. The Rev.

Dr. Robert E. Reasey and the Rev. Donald E. May will officiate.

Burial will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster County, at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation. Gundel Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge of arrangements. Thomas Jr. Services for Alfred K. Thomas 83, of 1069E Meadow Wood Apartments, Allendale Road, Upper Allen Township, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Grace United Methodist Church, Simpson and Market streets, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Dennis Otto officiating.

He died Sunday in his home. Born Aug. 6, 1908, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Alfred Sr. and Helen Raysor Thomas. He was retired from the former Paul H.

Services for Paul H. Sadler, 74, of 8 E. Simpson Mechanicsburg, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market Camp Hill. He died Saturday in his home.

Born Oct. 2, 1917, he was a son of the late Clinton and Mary Alice Dout Sadler. He was retired from Harrisburg State Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Central Pennsylvania Busi- Richard E.

Tate, 60, of 422 Gardners Station Road, Gardners, died Monday in Gettysburg Hospital. Born Aug. 20, 1931, in Mt. Holly Springs, he was a son of the late Ralph R. and Emma Shupp Tate.

He had been employed by the former C.H. Musselman Pet Milk and Knouse Foods Corp. Gardners for 43 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army from 1952-1954.

He attended Idaville United Brethren in Christ Church. He managed the Idaville Pony League for 35 years and served as committeeman of Boy Scout Troop 75, Gardners, for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, D. Laurene Richard E. Tate Bobo Tate, to whom he was married for 38 years; two sons, Neil R.

of York Springs and Brad at home; two sisters, Betty L. Eppley of Lake Meade and Bonnie L. Wolf of York Springs; four brothers, Marlin R. and Ronald both of Carlisle, Stanley C. of York Springs and Randy R.

of East Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Dugan Funeral Home 111 S. Main Bendersville, with the Rev. Dirk A.

Small officiating. Burial will be in Wenksville Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Walter C.

Memorial contributions may be made to any charity. Walter C. Shea, 91, formerly of 568 Allenview Drive, Mechanicsburg, formerly of Lowell, died Monday in Blue Ridge Haven West, East Pennsboro Township. Born July 30, 1900, in Lowell, he was a son of the late John J. and Mary Sullivan Shea.

He was the widower of Katherine G. Shea. He was a retired teacher from Lowell School Systems, Massachusetts. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Upper Allen Township.

Surviving are one son, Walter C. Shea Jr. of Laurel, one daughter, Mary Joyce Adkins of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, with the Rev.

Richard P. Waldron officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main Mechanicsburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Martha M. Zoll and a past president and member of Carlisle Area Science Advisory Committee. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Moore Larsen, to whom he was married for 54 years; two sons, Walter A. of Lititz and Robert W. of Hanover; one sister, Petra Osen of California; three grandchildren; and one greatgrandson.

Timothy A. Moul, 600 block of Glendale Street, told Carlisle police someone threw eggs at his 1989 Buick parked near his home between 8 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday. The eggs caused an unspecified amount of damage to the paint.

VCR stolen from residence A burglar made off with a Carlisle man's video cassette recorder early Monday morning. Carlisle police reports say the burglar entered the home of Sinan Koont, 400 block of South Pitt Street, Carlisle, through a rear door between midnight and 7 a.m. The thief removed a video cassette recorder, the tape inside it and the electrical connectors worth a total of about $340. Police probing thefts from trailers Mechanicsburg police are investigating several recent trailer breakins at H.J. Heinz Co.

An employee of the company told police Friday afternoon several trailers parked in a lot along Heinz Road had been broken into and merchandise removed. Upon arrival, police discovered seven trailers had been entered. The culprit had also thrown ketchup around inside the trailers. The trailers and their contents are owned by John F. Walters Trucking.

No estimate of the damage or loss was given. Bike stolen in M'burg A Mechanicsburg resident reported his bicycle stolen Sunday. Anoy Harris, 100 block of North Market Street, Mechanicsburg, told Mechanicsburg police someone stole his men's style, 26-inch Ross 10-speed mountain bike. It is blue with black trim and was taken between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday from beside his home.

The bicycle bears license number 2763 and serial number 0984904314. Damage reported at pizza shop Someone damaged a pizza shop in Mechanicsburg recently. Mechanicsburg police reports say Mark Zeiders, manager of Domino's Pizza, first block of North Market Street, discovered someone attempted to pry the metal strip from around the glass portion of the front door.
