Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Leonard C. Cole; a son, Leonard "Mike" Cole of Boiling Springs; two daughters, Linda C. Goldinger of Mt. Holly Springs and Cinda C. Shannon of Carlisle; a brother, Ralph F.

Smyers Tipped over A tractor-trailer driver escaped injury Thursday when his rig struck a concrete barrier along Route 11 in Middlesex Township. Box 725, New Bloom-field 17068. 'Thelma M. Hockenberry, 71, of Newport, formerly of Blain, died Thursday, May 29, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.

Born June 29, 1925 in Loysville, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Edna Anderson Fisher and the widow of George W. Hockenberry Sr. Mrs. Hockenberry, a graduate of the former Blain Union High School, was formerly employed by the Blain Dress Factory. She was a member of Sandy Hill United Church of Christ in Loysville and Newport Ambulance League.

Surviving are two sons, Donald E. of Blain and George W. Jr. of Loysville; three daughters, Judy M. Klinger, April M.

Cramer, and Nancy L. Hess, all of the Newport area; Alfred E. Stevick of 16th Street, New Cumberland, was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass when her car collided with the rear of Murry's vehicle. Ms. Harpster was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital; her condition was not known at press time today.

Driver treated after accident in Perry A Carlisle man was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Carroll Township, Perry County Wednesday night. State police in Newport say Bradley Ryder of Carlisle was driving a 1984 Subaru northbound on Route 34 about 8:45 a.m. Jeffrey Kirkpatrick of Shermans Dale was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier along Windy Hill Road. Police say Kirkpatrick drove into Ryder's path and the two collided at the intersection. Ryder was treated at Carlisle Hospital and released, hospital sources say.

State files gaming charges against 4 Gambling and related charges were recently filed against an Enola man, three Harrisburg men and a veterans' home association. Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement officials say an investigation stemming from a raid in October led to the charges. Enforce deliver and violating curfew. Susan M. Harpster, 45, 800 block Teen held on drug, curfew charges A Carlisle teen is in Schaffner Detention Center after he punched a police officer during a "pat down" search Thursday. Police reports say the officer first encountered the youth late Thursday night and asked him his age. The youth gave a date of birth making him 18 years old and not subject to curfew. The officer later determined the youth was lying and spotted him again in the 100 block of North Pitt Street about 11:41.

The officer stopped the boy and informed him he was in violation of curfew. As the officer placed the 17-year-old in his cruiser, he told him he would be searched. The youth then punched the officer in the face and a struggle began. The boy fell to the ground and continued to be combative but was eventually was subdued. The boy was taken to Carlisle police station where a search turned up "large quantity Qf cocaine" worth about $500 on the street.

The boy was taken to Schaffner and will be petitioned to juvenile authorities on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of crack with intent to against the veterans home, Dean F. Shopper charged with retail theft A Mechanicsburg man was cited Wednesday after he allegedly tried to push a shopping cart loaded with merchandise out of a store without paying-Carlisle police reports say Dennis E.

Meyer, 19, first block of Pine Hill Avenue, was allegedly seen placing Nintendo items into a shopping cart at Hills Department Store in the Carlisle MJ Mall about 2:30 p.m. Meyer then allegedly pushed the cart past the checkout area without paying for them. Meyer was stopped in the mall by security and held until police arrived. The merchandise was worth about $200, but Meyer had no money with him. Meyer was cited for retail theft and released.
