Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Velva M. DeWalt, 88, of 51 Echo Road, Carlisle, died Saturday in Carlisle Hospital. She was born Jan.

5, 1902 in Upper Frankford Township, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Emma Lehman Henry. She was the widow of William A. DeWalt, who died April 10, 1979. She was a member of St.

Peter's Lutheran Church, Upper Frankford Township. Surviving are one son, William C. of Carlisle; three daughters, Geral- ers, Kenneth Sheaffer of RD2 Shermans Dale, Charles Sheaffer of Tampa, and Lester Sheaffer of Marysville; and one sister, Hazel Miller of RD3 Shermans Dale. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. The Revs.

Randolph Easton and Phil Vos will officiate. Burial will be Services for John C. Cless 81, and Wilma O. Cless, 77, of RD1, Elliottsburg, will be held at 1 1 a.m. Tuesday in Messiah Lutheran Church, Rt.

274, Elliottsburg. They died Wednesday in their home. He was bom June 6, 1909, in RD1 Landisburg, the son of the late Harvey and Sarah Stahl Cless. She was bom July 30, 1913, near Duncannon, the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Ziegler Sheaffer. He was retired from Frog, Switch and Manufacturing Carlisle.

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Elliottsburg, and both were members of the Landisburg Ambulance Club. Surviving are three sons, Bobby K. Services for Blanche E. Bovd. 94, of 1808 Carroll Track Road, Orrtan-na, will be at 2 p.m.

Tuesday at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle Gettysburg. She died Friday in her home. Born Sept. 7, 1896, in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Sarah Fritz Herring.

She was the widow of the late Robert W. Boyd who died in 1968. She was a member of Flohrs Lutheran Church of Cashtown, a member of the Cashtown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and the Adams County Council of Republican Women. Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen E. Loucks of Carlisle and Martha B.

Spence of Orrtanna; two sisters, Aletha Pitzer of Biglerville and Lovell Cease of Hanover; three grandchildren: three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Y. Boden will officiate.

Tuesday in Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 N. Chestnut Dillsburg. He died Friday in Holy Spirit Hospital. Born Nov. .7, 1901 in Franklin Township, York County, he was a son of the late Charles and Flora Laughman Murray.

He was the widower of Grace Trump Murray. He was retired from Hempt Brothers Corp. of Camp Hill and a member of Harmony Bethel Church of God and the Yellow Breeches Anglers and Conservation Association. Surviving are one son, M. Eugene burg, will be at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday in Fogalsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King Shippens-burg. She died Friday in Chambersburg Hospital. Bom April 20, 1916, in Flintstone, she was a daughter of the late Perry and Izora Ryan Bames. She was retired from the Greif Company of Shippensburg and was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are her husband. Richard B. Scott of Camp Hill, and Gary L. Brumbaugh of England; two daughters, Sharon L. Alleman of Lurgan and Joyce A.

Hockenberry of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Alan E.

Bretz, 97, of Menno Haven Nursing Home, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 1 12 W. King Shippensburg. She died Saturday in the home. Born Oct.

15, 1893, in Gibson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William L. and Augusta Kolkmeier Bretz. She was a retired junior high school English teacher in Columbus, Ohio, and a graduate of Ohio State University. She was a member of St.

John's burg, Tower Associates of Shippensburg University Foundation and the PEO. Surviving are two nieces and five nephews. Friends may call one half hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Stephen W.

He died Saturday in Thornwald Home, Carlisle. Bom Sept. 27, 1914, in Halifax, he was the son of the late Carv in C. and Irminnie Nelson Lebo. He was the owner and operator of the former Lebo Coal Yard, Carlisle, and also was retired from the maintenance department of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

He was a member of the St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Carlisle Springs. Surviving are his wife, Melva Watkins Lebo; one sister, Mildred Enders of Halifax; one brother, Willis Lebo of Halifax; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev.

Zion Lutheran Church, Goodyear, and a life member of the Mt. Holly Fish and Game Association. 2, 1927, in Boiling Springs, a son of the late Howard and Mary Elizabeth Martin Brenneman. He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. He was retired from Public Sen ice Electric and Gas Newark, N.J. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of the VFW 477, American Legion 101 and the Moose Lodge, all of Carlisle. Surviving are his companion, Sonia L. Accident leads to 2 citations A Martinsburg man was charged with failing to obey a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way following a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon.

Carlisle police say David A. Griffith, 53, no exact address listed, was traveling west on East Louther Street about 2:23 p.m. As he approached the intersection with N. Bedford Street, he failed to stop for a stop sign, striking a vehicle driven by Betty Louis Albright, 64, of the 100 block of Dorr who was traveling south on North Bedford. Ms.

Albright was treated and released at Carlisle Hospital. Bank reports attempted burglary An unknown person attempted to burglarize Meridian Bank on the first block of West High Street sometime Wednesday. Carlisle police say Joe Breilen-bach, a Meridian employee, reported Friday that someone had attempted to gain entry to the bank by breaking a glass pane on the rear door of the building. The break was near one lock, but not sufficient to reach two other ones. There are no itnesses or suspects at this time.

Teen faces drinking charges A Carlisle man was charged with underage possession and consumption of alcohol Friday evening. Carlisle police say Robert L. Kel-ley, IS. no address listed, was obsened in a car in the Hardees parking lot ith beer. A fiedl test determined he also had consumed beer.

He was cited and released Motorists foil burglary attempt A burglary at Midway Bowling Lanes early Saturday morning was foiled by a passing motorist who witnessed the attempt and contacted authorities. State police at Carlisle say the motorist and his passenger, identified only as a Carlisle area couple, were traveling on Route 34 about 12:30 a.m. when they observed two suspects attempting to gain entry to Midway through a window. The couple summoned an employee from the bowling lanes, who then left the scene to gain police assistance. The couple remained at the scene, and several shots were fired at their ehicle by one of the suspects, who the motorist said was using some type of rifle.

No injuries were sustained to the motorist or passenger. No damage estimate was reported on the couple's vehicle. The couple described the suspects as two black males, about to 5' with a medium build. A check of the area did not locate the suspects. Any information on this incident should be referred to state police at Carlisle.

Man charged in one-car crash A Gettysburg man was charged with driving under the influence following a one-vehicle accident Friday evening in West Pennsboro Township. State police at Carlisle say Douglas Lee Plank, 24, of the first block of Blacksmith Shop Road, was traveling north on Route 233 about 9:48 p.m. when his vehicle ran off the road, onto the right berm and down an embankment.
