The Sentinel at www.cumberlink.com FOR THE RECORD Tuesday July 27, 2010 OBITUARIES Lori Ann Metzger daughter of Anite O. Metzger and the late Charles K. Metzger of Windermere, Fla. She was the wife of Philip Boob Jr. for 28 years.

She is survived by her son, Nathan Metzger, and her daughter, Caitlin' Metzger; sisters and brother in-laws Annette Metzger-Saeger and husband Jeremy of At- lanta, and Michelle Greene a and husband Randall of Windermere, fatherin-law, Philip Boob Sr. and wife Ginny Boob; sister-inlaw Pam Spong; and nephew and niece Erick Spong and Sophia Spong. Lori was preceded in death by her infant son, Nicholas, and mother in-law, Beverly Boob. She graduated from Boiling Springs High School and from Williamsport Community College (Pennsylvania College of Technology) with a degree in marketing ing. She was a very active member of St.

Benjamin's Lutheran Church, Westminster. For 18 years she was the manager and assistant buyer of the Hickory Stick, Westminster. She was instrumental in forming the Dicey Chix Bunco Group with her very close friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St.

Benjamin's Lutheran Church, 700 Kriders Cemetery Road, Westminster, with the Rev. David Schafer officiating. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be offered at www. prittsfuneralhome.com. Betty J. Chamberlin Betty J. Chamberlin, 84, of Shippensburg died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.

Born Aug. 3, 1925, in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late James and Dollie Seavers Stine. She was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Betty graduated in 1943 from Shippensburg High School and then was enrolled in the Army Cadet Nurses Training program at York Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from the program, she was a registered nurse at Chambersburg Hospital, worked at a local physicians office and was a public health nurse with the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

She excelled at and enjoyed cooking and homemaking. She is survived by her husband, Jay C. Chamberlin; one daughter, Nancy E. Opilo and her husband Matthew of Palmyra; one granddaughter, Katie E. Opilo of Lancaster; one sister, Vesta G.

Clippinger of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David William and J. Paul Stine; and two sisters, Mary E. Piper and Daisy F. Highlands.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Shippensburg. Officiating will be the Rev. Kevin E. Hughes and the Rev.

Dr. Francis H. Norton. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing, but there will be a visitation Friday morning one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

USA, 72, formerly of Newville, died in St. Petersburg, on July 6, 2010, losing his last battle to Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife, Ella; their children, Mary Miranda, Dr. Michael C. Morin and Col.

Mark Pat- terson; their spouses, Lt. Col. Vernon Miranda, Dr. Kirsten Morin and Deanna Patterson; seven grandchildren; and his brothers, Tom and Charles. Michael was born and raised in Paxton, earned an undergraduate degree from Knox College in Galesburg, and a master's degree from George Washington University.

Michael served two tours of duty in Vietnam. His other assignments included service at USMA, the Pentagon, Ft. Benning and Germany. Michael was also a graduate of the Naval and Army War Colleges. He retired from the Army in 1989, and then taught at the Army War College and wrote doctrine for the U.S.

Army. Mike was a fine athlete all his life, lettering in football, basketball and track at college. He continued to play basketball to the end of his life, playing in the Pennsylvania and national Senior Games. Michael will be buried in Lehman, Pa. A memorial service will be held at Allison United Methodist Church, Carlisle, on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m. In lieu offlowers, memorial contributions may be made to Knox College Library or Knox College Athletic Department at Galesburg, ILL 61401. Darr, 58, of Carlisle died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at his home. Born Jan. 12, 1952, in Carlisle, he was a son of Vesta Morrison Darr of Newville and the late Herman Darr. He was employed by Martini Brothers Trucking as a driver. He was a longtime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299, Carlisle.

Galen was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap. Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, Duane L. Darr of Carlisle and Derek D. Darr of Harrisburg; one Alice Elizabeth Woomer, 94, of Carlisle died early Sunday morning July 25, 2010, at Forest Park Health Care Center, Carlisle, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Russell, on May 29, 1916, to the late Chester J.

and Mariam Kingsborough Martin. She was the widow of the late Roland G. Stelzer and Kenneth E. Woomer. She retired in 1979 as a sales clerk for the former Woolworth Store in Carlisle, a member of the Newville Assembly of God, the Carlisle Red Hat Society, Gold's Gym and Joe's Gym.

In her spare time Alice liked antiquing, woodworking, knitting, painting, gardening, travel, sewing and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by two daughters, Ondrea M. Snyder and her husband William of Gardners and Linda K. Donnelly of Mechanicsburg; six Grandchildren; four great -grandchildren, Woomer grand- Deborah R. children; 17 step- Judd, 61, of great -grandchil- Carlisle passed dren; and one away on Saturday, step-great -great- July 24, 2010, at grandchild.

She was born May 4, 1960, in Lock Haven, the and merchandis- Alice Elizabeth Barron "Barry" Wayne Myers, 58, of Carlisle died Friday, July 23, 2010, in Carlisle.

Born Jan. 12, 1952, in Carlisle, he was the son of Esther Wilson Myers of Carlisle and the late Kenneth Wayne Myers. He was a 1971 Carlisle High School graduate who played football, baseball, track and field and wrestling. He worked at Rillo's as a cook. Later he was employed at Carlisle Plumbing and Heating.

He volunteered for the Community Watch Program and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299, Carlisle. Barron enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his father and later in life was an avid sports spectator. The Chicago Bears was his alltime favorite football team. Since his high school football days, Barry has been a member of the SOD Brothers (a local group of fellow football players). Barron loved reading, gardening, flowers, and keeping several aquariums of tropical fish.

His family and friends were most important to him. Barron loved his dog, his constant companion, Bucky. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Debra L. Fraker (and husband, James of Carlisle and Terry L. Myers (and Warren Vetter) of Carlisle; nieces and nephews Michelle Fraker, Karin Fraker, Ryan Fraker (and wife, Kelli), Adriana Calderon and Garrett Calderon; and greatnieces and -nephews Samantha, Anthony, Micayla, Jenna, Peyton, Anaya and Scottie.

A celebration of Barron's life will be held at 4 p.m. PENNSYLVANIA BRIEFLY Man robs bank in clown pants SWISSVALE Authorities say a Pittsburgharea man robbed a bank wearing a woman's blond wig, fake breasts under a sweater and clown pants. Swissvale police say 48- year- -old Dennis Hawkins of North Braddock was sitting in a parked car covered in red dye from an exploding packet in a bag of money when he was arrested Saturday. Police Chief Greg Geppert says Hawkins robbed the bank at gunpoint, using a toy BB gun he had shoplifted from a store. Geppert says Hawkins then entered a woman's car.

She got out, took her keys and alerted police. Hawkins was found sit ting in the car. He is being held on $230,000 bail. Associated Press nifer M. Deb was a 1967 graduate of Carlisle High School and received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Hagerstown Junior College. Deb was a registered nurse and was formerly employed by the Church of God Home in Carlisle, where she was a nursing supervisor for nine years. Deb also worked for several years at the former Carlisle Hospital and Alexander Spring Rehabilitation, also in Carlisle. She was a longtime member of Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church. She is survived by two sons, Jeremy M.

Judd of Bangor and John M. Judd of Carlisle; a daughter, Jen- Donna Myers of Carlisle; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services to celebrate Deb's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, with Pastor Alan Robinson officiating. Burial will be private.
